The ECOS3 is a revolutionary new explosive containment system exclusively manufactured by Aviation Equipment, Inc. AEI uses an advanced fiber/metal laminate called GLARE® to construct the ECOS3. Panels made of GLARE® utilize alternate layers of this, high strength aluminum with a unidirectional glass material. These high impact resistant panels are then joined to an ultra-strength aluminum frame system.

In the FAA test shown below, over twice as many explosives than were used in the Lockerbie tragedy (Flight 103) were detonated in this AEI manufactured Blast Resistant Luggage Container. The resulting blast and fire was successfully contained by the new design.
